We could find ourselves in a situation where we are done creating our dashboard but we don't want our user to be able to click and interact with the the dashboard for reasons best known to us. In this instance, its just a one step solution.
Float a blank object over the dashboard and extend it over the entire dashboard. By doing this, the whole dashboard becomes unclickable.
