Very clear statement, today I would have liked to have had more time. Our task was to compare polls before Brexit and after.

The task:

More than six years have passed since the Brexit referendum in the United Kingdom. Did you know that this was only the third national referendum ever? Crazy! And we are still suffering the effects of that vote today.

The day after the 2016 referendum, DS3 was in training and we decided to scrap the original dashboard week plan and focus on understanding the referendum results. Since then, we haven't looked at the data - until today. Here's what they created.

The team needs to discuss issues and organize themselves to avoid overlap. They need to find survey data (Yougov.uk has a lot) and visualize the results. They need to find a survey that was conducted before the referendum and the same or a similar survey from more recently. The data needs to be in the cluttered survey format.

I'm very curious to see how opinions have changed, if at all, especially at the regional level.

The topic is a bit special for me, as I am not from the UK. Basically, I am informed about the Brexit, but I look at the whole thing only from the bird's eye view. For me, it primarily means that I need a passport again to do my trekking in the UK. I have struggled to find suitable research. There is so much happening in the world that I find the interpretation of surveys unrepresentative. In the end, I settled on a survey of German companies about the impact on trade relations between Germany and the UK. I have to say that, fortunately, the fears of the companies were not all confirmed.
One of the main problems today was my time management. I needed too much time for the research. I also had to manually transfer all the survey results into an Excel file because they were presented differently in both reports. In the end, I didn't have enough time for the actual dashboard. As a result, when I presented it, it was still very raw and flawed. I think I need a plan B for tomorrow, because if I don't have all the data by noon, it will be tight by 4:30pm. After the presentation, I added the feedback to my dashboard and am now happy with the result.
