Within the Maintenance page of Tableau Server, there are a pre-build administrative views which allow you to monitor server and site activity in different ways. But in addition to this, you also have the option to create your own customised administrative views using Tableau Server, to analyse your site or server profile.
In order to do this, you will need to connect to and query relevant stored information from the PostgresQL database underneath Tableau Server.
Once you’ve connected, you will have a range of tables on the left pane to choose from. You can now join or relationship these tables to start creating your customised views.
This data dictionary is very useful for helping decide which tables to use and how to join them as shows what each table in the PostgresQL database is for and what each of the fields represent.
