DASHBOARD WEEK 5: WHO IS A SURVIVOR?

by Erlina Cahyadi

For our final day of dashboard week, we were tasked with analyzing data from the show, Survivor. This was the same dataset that DSNY3 was given for their second round interviews. Just as DSNY3, we were given a choice between using the combined dataset or the uncombined version.

I used the combined dataset to reduce the amount of time spent on cleaning the data, as it was already pretty clean. My goal for this dashboard was to see what it takes to become a survivor based on demographics and personality, so that I could see whether I could survive or not.

We see in the data that of the 58 survivors, majority were from California (8) with an ESTP personality (6) and on average around 32 years old (4). I, on the other hand, am 24 years old from New York with an ISFP-T personality, which does not match majority of the survivors. Only two of the 58 survivors closely match me, which also means it’s not impossible for me to win.

However, not many individuals like me have won, but maybe you will have a better chance of surviving...
