Exam Format
Exam is closed book and must be taken at either a test center or taken online with constant supervision over webcam.
Time Limit:
120 minutes (includes 3 minutes for reviewing the NDA and 5 minutes for tutorial).
Question Format:
- Knowledge-based: Multiple choice, Multiple selection, and Active screen (includes Build list, Drag and drop)
- Performance-based: Hands-on lab
Number of Questions:
Scored items: 30 knowledge-based items and 1 hands-on lab with 10-11 tasks. o Unscored items: Up to 15 including knowledge-based items and hands-on lab tasks.
Scoring:
Candidates will receive an email when their score report is available (within 48 hours of completing the exam.)
Passing Score:
The passing scaled score for the Tableau Certified Data Analyst exam is 750.

How to Prep
- Refamiliarize yourself with the Tableau interface and basic features:
- Practice connecting and importing data: connecting to different data sources and importing data into Tableau.
- Practice as many calculations as you can: such as calculated fields and measures, and Tableau's analytics tools, such as trend lines and reference lines.
- Practice using sample data sets: Download and use sample data sets provided by Tableau, or find other publicly available data sets to practice analyzing and visualizing.
- Study the certification guide and do practice exam: Review the Tableau Data Analyst Certification Exam Guide and take the Tableau sample practice test as much as you can to be well versed with the format of the exam and type of question to be asked.
