Power Bi is an interesting tool that is offered as a bundle with the Microsoft suite. This means it is free when people buy Microsoft. This often can be the deciding for people and companies to opt for it to be used for data visualization. Comparatively, Tableau is more powerful in a way and has more features. Power Bi itself does have some strong points to be used for data analytics. The user interface of Power Bi is very familiar to those that are used to Excel. This means there is not a huge learning curve. It does have some neat features that tableau doesn’t have.
Pros
Dynamic chart resizes and how it snaps onto a grid. This may seem intuitive versus the container in Tableau.
The interactivity is very fluid.
Transform the data
The map animation is smooth
It is very easy to create a drill-down table
Cons
Can’t edit the title by double clicking on it
A Slicer needs to use to filter
Formatting the color and fonts are very tedious
Can’t make the page of the dashboard larger
Can’t Center on Multi-Row card
Turning off the Header on the axis is not a simple right click
Power Bi by itself is a powerful tool that can get you far in. However, the lack of features that Tableau gives is very unusual to be getting used to. Although sometimes it is understandable to be cost-effective. Sometimes a little investment can push the upper limit of what the company can do. Time and money can be saved in the long run.
