Serena graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2020 with an MA (Hons) in International Relations with Quantitative Methods. She then spent two years living and working in Spain as an English teacher before joining The Data School as part of cohort DS36.
During her time at The Data School, Serena developed expertise in Tableau, Alteryx, and Power BI. She became a skilled Tableau developer known for combining thoughtful design with strong technical performance - creating dashboards that are both insightful and visually engaging. Her contributions to the Tableau community earned her the title of Tableau Ambassador for 2024–25 and again for 2025–26. In 2024, Serena presented in front of 700 attendees at Tableau DataFam Europe as part of a Tableau competition, helping secure a win for her team.
As a consultant, Serena has partnered with clients across financial services, property management, and the non-profit sector. She applies her analytical and problem-solving skills to help organisations unlock the value of their data and strengthen their internal capabilities. Her enablement projects have empowered teams through bespoke training, tailored learning resources, and community engagement.
Serena recently joined the core team at The Information Lab, where she now works as a Data School Coach - training and inspiring the next generation of data enthusiasts.
Outside of work, Serena enjoys reading about the gender gap, painting, and exploring the outdoors in any way she can.
