Zaman’s journey to The Data School began during his time at university, where he obtained a BSc in Economics from Queen Mary, University of London. The statistics modules on this course ignited his interest in Data Analytics, where he completed projects utilising Stata and Excel to provide insight on an array of practical challenges.
Graduating in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic provided its challenges, and until 2022 Zaman worked in sales and technical consultancy until he joined the Civil Service for his first Data Analytics job where he began to hone his skills in Excel, SQL and Power BI.
Upon discovering The Data School and The Information Lab, Zaman saw this as an unmissable opportunity to develop his analytical and consulting skills and apply these to a range of industries. Currently learning Python for Data Analytics and Machine Learning in addition to his Data School training, Zaman is passionate about leveraging these tools to enhance business operations and help people make sense of their data.
Zaman is an avid follower of sports - particularly football, and enjoys playing padel, badminton, snooker and cricket in his spare time. He regularly reads non-fiction books to expand his knowledge and loves to cook, a passion he developed whilst managing his family’s restaurant.
