Tyler McKillop

Tyler is a data-driven consultant with a strong analytical foundation and diverse experience across research, construction, and hospitality. With an MChem in Chemistry from the University of Bath, he brings a scientific mindset and a practical approach to problem-solving.

In his roles prior to The Data School, he has delivered impact by:

  • Streamlining business operations and project coordination in a family-run construction firm, gaining first-hand experience in data management and decision-making.

  • Applying advanced analytical tools such as Mnova and Excel to interpret large experimental datasets during his research, strengthening his ability to extract insights from complex information.

At The Data School, Tyler has worked with clients including VMO2 and the University of Cambridge, leveraging Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx to design intuitive dashboards and data workflows. He particularly enjoys the logical process of cleaning data, using RegEx for pattern recognition, and building APIs to connect and automate workflows. Recently, he designed an interactive dashboard exploring gender pay gaps across the UK and London, where he applied a variety of chart types and design techniques to create a clear, engaging narrative.

Outside of consulting, Tyler enjoys playing the piano, discovering new music, and exploring sustainable fashion through vintage markets in London.
