Skyla is a Data Analytics Consultant at The Information Lab, passionate about storytelling with data and problem-solving.
She began her data journey at Hamilton College where she realized the power of data to make discoveries through psychology research and linguistics experiments while earning her bachelor’s in Psychology and Japanese.
Afterward, she developed her technical skills as a Data Analytics Fellow at COOP Careers Fellowship, and built strong observational skills as a Data Collector for Tech companies. She also has previous experience as a Clinical Certified Medical Assistant, in UX Research, and in nonprofits.
At The Information Lab, Skyla became proficient at data cleaning in tools such as Tableau Prep, Power Query, and Alteryx. On the creative side, Skyla has been able to express her joy of storytelling through visualizations and dashboarding in Tableau and Power BI, where her chart choices and layouts allow for easy analysis. Additionally, she gained experience with query languages like SQL, and is honing her skills day by day.
Outside of work, Skyla enjoys trying different types of teas, playing video games, and watching a good show.
