Ollie is a consultant with an analytical mindset and a practical approach to problem-solving. Before joining The Data School, he spent time in the US working for a transport technology company, using data to improve operational performance across several cities, including retraining staff and resolving issues on the ground. He then moved into market research, where he streamlined reporting and data preparation at an agency, empowering client teams to produce cleaner, faster insights.
On placement, Ollie has been working with one of the largest telecoms companies in the UK, gaining exposure to senior stakeholders and sharpening his communication skills across a diverse range of audiences. He has been developing Tableau dashboards to monitor the company's mobile sector, including a suite tracking the launch of the UK's first direct-to-device mobile satellite service, powered by Starlink. Alongside this, he has been using dbt to build out business and visualisation layers to serve these dashboards, giving him a holistic, end-to-end view of the data pipeline and ownership over how data moves from source to insight.
Ollie particularly enjoys the creativity involved in building dashboards that combine visual clarity with meaningful insight, primarily using Tableau and Power BI. During his time at The Data School, projects included scouting and player analysis tools for a Premier League football club, as well as dashboards visualising a graduate outcome survey for a London university.
Ollie holds a degree in Mathematics and Statistics from Newcastle University, where he developed a strong foundation in data and a growing interest in applying it to real-world challenges.
Outside of The Data School, sport is a huge passion. He plays golf regularly, follows football closely, and rarely misses a Fulham match. He also creates visualisations for his Tableau Public profile, with a particular focus on sports visualisation -e xploring what data can tell us about football, golf and sport more broadly, combining insight with thoughtful design.
