Maria found her passion for data during her time studying Neuroscience and Psychology at King's College London, where her final year research project investigated how internal representations affect motor skill acquisition using virtual reality. She modified VR headsets and adapted a rhythm-based VR game into a quantitative research instrument. Throughout her academic journey, she gained four years of experience using R, later picking up Python to build a machine learning model classifying MRI scans for Alzheimer's disease, and grew to love building visualisations that turn technical work into something people can act on.
Maria's curiosity extends beyond her role into prosthetic development, particularly in their design and material composition, drawn to how engineering and human need intersect.
Outside of work, Maria dedicates her time to sewing, modding retro consoles, and attending music festivals.
