Mandy Wan

Mandy’s first dive into the world of data began during her MA (Hons) degree in Psychology at the University of Glasgow, where she spent 4 years honing her data analysis skills in R. Her academic pursuits culminated in a large-scale research study exploring how the online communities and fictional characters of video games influence mental health, deriving data-driven insights to inform player well-being safeguarding strategies.

Motivated by the desire to turn insights into impact, she went on to complete a MSc in Human Computer Interaction at the University of St Andrews. There, she gained valuable experience in problem solving, user research, and stakeholder collaboration through the design and delivery of digital solutions for internal academic clients.

She was drawn to the Data School as an opportunity to nourish her love of storytelling by translating complex data into meaningful narratives that drive better decision-making and increase the accessibility of insights for diverse audiences.

When she’s not at work, Mandy can be found exploring London’s many museums, trying out new recipes in the kitchen, or stalking the local bookshops for the latest horror mystery novel.
