Lydia graduated from the University of Sheffield with a Master’s degree in Maths. Between then and joining the Data School, she worked in the development of clinical systems as a software tester then an analyst, with clients in the NHS and other private healthcare providers. This gave her exposure to the use data to improve patient care which inspired her move into data analytics and visualization.
Aside from Tableau and Alteryx, Lydia has experience of:
Working with and managing large databases, querying with SQL and orchestrating the transformation of data in relational databases
Programming in Python and R
Agile project management
Building, connecting to and extracting data from APIs
She has been demonstrating her ability to apply her technical skills within a consulting environment including,
Creating analytical dashboards to inform business decisions
Using Snowflake to clean data and connect to a Tableau workbook
Managing a team to ensure deliverables were achieved on time to a high standard
In 2025, Lydia expanded her data engineering capabilities including:
Achieving Snowpro Core certification
Supporting The Information Lab's public dbt training and acheiving dbt Fundamentals certification
Designing and building a new dbt model on a client placement
In 2026, Lydia is working with a pharmaceutical client to develop and implement a data governance framework, including:
Implementing version control using Github
Developing a Software Development Lifecycle process for production deployment
Ensuring the data team are in compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA etc.
Lydia is also a co-lead of the Data + Women London Tableau User Group.
