Joe’s journey into the world of data began during his First-Class Honours degree in Economics at the University of Leeds, where he developed a strong foundation in statistical analysis and econometrics. His final-year dissertation used panel data across over 370 UK local authority districts to explore the relationship between an ageing population, GDP per capita, and carbon emissions — an ambitious project that deepened his appreciation for turning raw data into impactful insights.
After graduating, Joe worked in telecoms as a Revenue Assurance Analyst, where he played a key role in identifying and preventing revenue leakage. Using SQL, Power BI, and a sharp analytical eye, he built dashboards, uncovered fraudulent trends, and resolved large-scale data discrepancies.
Joe was drawn to the world of data because of its ability to inform smarter decisions and bring clarity to complex problems. He thrives on uncovering patterns others might miss and presenting them in a way that resonates with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Outside of work, Joe is an avid traveler and recently spent ten months backpacking across Asia. He’s also a self-taught guitarist, loves to run, and a firm believer that the best way to learn is by getting stuck in.
