Ben joined The Data School after graduating from the University of York, reading History with a specific interest in medical and colonial history. Aside from his studies, Ben has previously gained experience in retail and events.
Despite so far having served a fairly short tenure at The Information Lab, Ben has developed a large amount of experience across a range industries. Most notably having spent the last 6 months at EDF Energy as a Data and BI Specialist.
These placements enabled experience within the following skillsets:
- Dashboarding for board-level executives
- Data mart design
- Invoice automation
- Web scraping via Alteryx
- Finance, marketing, survey, loyalty, and procurement data
- Data migration
After finishing his degree, Ben decided to pursue a more quantitative form of data as well as to develop upon an interest within sporting analytics. Already he has been able to gain accreditations within Alteryx and Tableau.
Outside of work Ben splits his time between playing sport, drawing, reading and seeing friends.
