Alex Bernaciak

With a strong foundation in data analytics and engineering, Alex specialises in the application of SQL, Alteryx, Tableau Prep and Power Query in everyday business analytics. Over the years, he has developed deep expertise in SQL across various platforms, including Oracle, Snowflake, PostgreSQL and Teradata, shaped by his experience at a leading logistics company and projects across sectors such as airlines, education, property management and sports. His toolset also includes Python, supporting more advanced data transformation and automation needs. With a growing focus on data engineering and analytics workflows, Alex is particularly interested in building solutions that make data more accessible, reliable and useful for decision-making.

Prior to his current role at the Information Lab, Alex worked as an Insight Analyst in the Media Measurement industry, driven by his fascination with data storytelling. There, he focused on uncovering key trends within client media presence, offering strategic consulting on their implications for corporate public perception. His diverse client portfolio included automotive, public research, and financial sectors, affording him invaluable insights into a range of industries.

Alex graduated with distinction from King's College London, attaining a Politics BA with a focus on Comparative Politics, voter behaviour research, and recent political shifts across Europe. Beyond his academic achievements, Alex's commitment to civic engagement was demonstrated through his work for KCL Civic Leadership Academy, where he earned the esteemed title of Civic Scholar. Through collaborative initiatives with London-based charities, he conducted in-depth research and analysis on socio-economic issues impacting underprivileged Londoners.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys learning languages, currently focusing on the Slavic and Romance families.
