Recently, I was working with my cohort on creating a Running Sum calculation; we wanted to verify that the total in the last row equaled the total for Superstore sales. This led us to discover that there is no easy way to view all rows while working in Tableau Prep. Though you can adjust the sampling settings for the input, the view is limited to 10,000 rows and you can't switch between view options–I hate to say it–like you can in Power BI.
If you've ever been there, or ever just encountered a feature that you feel ought to exist in a Tableau Core, or more broadly, a Salesforce product, I have good news: you can make your voice heard.
This is where the Salesforce Idea Exchange comes in. There, you can find and post ideas for features to incorporate in Salesforce products. (For Tableau-specific features, filter to Tableau & Analytics on the filter bar to the left.)
Before posting, do some searching, trying various key words to make sure your suggestion is unique. If you do find your idea already on there, make sure to upvote it! If no one has suggested it yet, do your best to explain the issue in as detailed, concise, and convincing a way as you can—your goal should be to have others be able to get to where you are and agree that a feature addition would be beneficial. Adding pictures/screenshots helps a lot. Finally, once you post, share! Raising awareness for your idea, whether by having your coworkers upvote it, or sharing with the greater #DataFam is a great way to boost the chances of it getting implemented. After all, if Salesforce sees that many users are interested in a feature, they'll be more prone to develop it!
