Dashboard Week- Day 5

by Ana-Casiana Tarita

I can't believe that the training is over. We've learned so many things in the last four months: so many tools, techniques and we also had the chance to explore our creativity (which I loved).

It all went so fast. When has the time go? ⏰

In the last day of training, we had to analyze data regarding dependent and independent restaurants from the United States. This task was harder than the previous ones because we only had 3 hours to do everything.

The data can be found here if you want to take a look.

Luckily for us, the data was already cleaned and prepared, so I only had to use Tableau Desktop.

Things I've learned from the past projects:

  • learned to work under pressure
  • learned how to manage my time wisely
  • improved my overall strategy and general analysis
  • improved my data preparation skills and presentation skills

Challanges I faced (due to the time limit):

  • not able to answer all the questions or do complex graphs
  • another dataset would have been interesting to join and analyze; however, I didn't had enough time.
  • I found myself spending too much time on grouping restaurants (705,000). I think I spent one hour because of the higher number of restaurants. Need to manage my time better.

Even though dashboard week was stressful for some of us, it has been an immersive opportunity because it helped us developed many skills including having the ability to work under pressure along with improving many other skills.
