Mockaroo is an online tool that generates test data quickly and easily with few clicks, with no programming skills required.  It has a simple user interface that allows you to generate 1,000 rows of random data (for the free version) and can be downloaded in different formats available.

DSDE2 was introduced to this tool yesterday by Coach Peter GB and I generated my own simple mock "car data” to demonstrate an example.

Mockaroo has columns of data field names, data types and an option to alter data according to your specification, with blank or formula for example. Under Field Name, you can specify a text input on how you want your column to be named. Under Type, there are about 157 categories you can choose from.   To populate my Car Data example, I simply typed for 'Car' in the search field and results show 4 Data categories to select from.

Mockaroo also has a lot of useful features like Formula, Functions etc...which can be applied to transform data into more details of your specific requirement.  See https://www.mockaroo.com/docs for documentation of these features.

The Preview Button allows you to have a glimpse of your generated data, and will display first 100 rows.  

Then you can quickly download it as CSV, EXCEL or SQL and use it in your test environment directly.
