Hi everyone!
Wow — I can’t believe it’s already our last day of training! Looking back at the past four months, it has definitely been a period full of new knowledge, discoveries, and hands-on experience.
For my final dashboard-week project, I decided to analyse my own reading habits using Goodreads data. It was surprisingly fun to explore things like how many books I read per month on average, how many pages I get through, and which month turned out to be my most productive reading month.
(Spoiler: in March 2024 I somehow managed to read 12 books — still not sure how!)
Since reading is one of my favourite hobbies, I originally had many other ideas I wanted to try, but, as always, time was limited. I’ll definitely continue working on those after the training, because there’s so much creative potential in book-related data.
The next thing I want to explore is how many hours it actually takes me to read, for example, 300 pages. I’m very curious to learn what my real reading speed is — and since I read in several languages, it would be interesting to compare how fast I read in my native language versus English or German.
To do that, I’ll need to build a habit of consistently tracking my daily reading time in the Goodreads app. That way I can capture not only the start and finish dates, but also the minutes or hours I spend reading each book.
As always, feel free to take a look at my first version! 🙂
